Capacity Building

MITRA Samaj excels in capacity building through a cadre of highly qualified trainers with deep subject matter expertise. In the recent past (2017 till 2020) MITRA Samaj—as Intermediary Service Organization (ISO)—implemented USAID-funded “Civil Society: Mutual Accountability Project (CS:MAP)”. Under this project, MITRA Samaj conducted Organizational Capacity Assessments (OCA) of Local NGOs to identify management, administrative, financial, and technical strength and capacity gaps, and facilitated to develop institutional improvement plan. Various training and workshop on institutional policies and strategic planning were conducted following by regular coaching and mentoring to support the local NGOs to build their capacities. Under the same project, MITRA Samaj facilitated series of training on advocacy, social accountability, public service oversight, project cycle management, monitoring and evaluation, and facilitation for formulation of five-year strategic plan, resource mobilization plan, M&E Guideline, strategic communication guideline, advocacy strategies etc. for 18 selected NGOs working with USAID funding in Nepal.

Some of the other prominent assignments related with capacity building and organizational development includes development of National Women Commission’s five-year strategic plan with one year costed plan, Human Resources Capacity Assessment of Ministry of Health and Population and its various department at federal, provincial and local level which was followed by the development of long-term action plan and budget.
