With comprehensive strategic plans in place, all CSOs now have clearly defined strategies of their individual organisations that will direct them to take best decisions to achieve organisational goals.
Under the support from FHI360 – lead partner of USAID-funded Civil Society: Mutual Accountability Project – MITRA Samaj conducted strategic planning workshops in eight civil society organisations as part of providing institutional development support.
After the workshops conducted on different dates from August till February, the strategic plans of all CSOs were drafted and developed before March 2018, which were endorsed by the executive committee of the individual CSOs.
Shanti Gurung, The Chairperson of SOCH Nepal, writes in strategic plan, “We are extremely happy for being successful in formulating this five-year strategic plan (2018-2022) of SOCH Nepal. We believe that this document comprehensibly clarifies our strategies and specifically directs us to take best decisions to achieve our goals. “We ascertain that this document extends best control mechanisms for guiding the implementation of the strategies responsibly, accountably, and progressively.”
Gurung thanks, “Our special thanks go to USAID/FHI360, MITRA Samaj (an Intermediary Services Organisation) and external consultants for providing technical leads and directions while making this ambitious yet achievable plan. Because of their technical suggestions and facilitation, we have become successful in catering every possible detail in the strategies and its respective actions.”
While Sunil Shakya and Prakash Pokharel led strategic planning workshops as lead facilitators, capacity development specialists of MITRA Samaj Karna Bahadur Nepali and Dabal Kaji Rokaha – after the workshops – led series of coaching and mentoring sessions to finalise the strategic plans of CSOs.
