MITRA Samaj has a pool of technical experts, including medical doctors, highly experience social mobilizers, communication experts, social marketing specialists, who have worked in remote areas of the country to design and implement health programs, sensitization workshops, relief operations, medical supply projects, vaccination, mass awareness programs, communication/mass media campaigns, advocacy drives, and others.

In the past, MITRA Samaj had carried out Pilot Introduction of Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine Program through a school-based vaccination program in Kathmandu Valley, Nepal, using cross subsidization scheme and implementing advocacy with government and non-government officials/organizations, formative research and IEC/BCC campaigns, with an objective to accelerate the introduction of Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine in high-risk areas in Kathmandu valley. With this project, MITRA Samaj successfully vaccinated 141,300 students and 2527 elders, and averted 150,000 infections in the Kathmandu Valley a tremendous achievement in public health sector of Nepal

MITRA Samaj has been continuously intervening in providing menstrual hygiene management services in urban settings, and increasing access to modern sanitary napkins and knowledge about menstrual hygiene management among adolescent girls of rural areas with the implementation of its own initiative MITINI. It has been incessantly intervening in reducing social taboos associated with menstruation and promoting menstrual hygiene management thorough advocacy drives, mass awareness campaigns, innovative sensitization programs from grassroots to high-level setting, which has been possible with the additional support from WaterAid Nepal.

As one of the implementing partners of Social Marketing and Franchising Project: AIDS, Reproductive Health (RH), and Child Survival (N-MARC), a program funded by USAID Nepal and Academy for Educational Development (AED) that aimed to support social marketing of family planning, maternal and child health, and HIV/AIDS prevention products and services, MITRA Samaj holds the credit of having a pool of professionals who have formal education and wealth of experience (10 years+) in social marketing.
